We are located in Gorham, New Hampshire just north of Mt. Washington in the Androscoggin River Valley. The Androscoggin River is big and diverse, containing rainbows, browns and brook trout. In certain sections of the river the Small Mouth Bass is king and can be found in good numbers. Surrounding the valley are the White Mountains to the south and the smaller mountains to the north. In these mountains are found some of the most beautiful, clear, free stone streams found anywhere in the northeast. These small streams can be demanding on the fly fisher, but the rewards are well worth the effort. Some of the streams to the north hold only Brook Trout, as do the remote ponds found in this area.
Dan's Fly Shop is owned and operated by me and my wife Deb. Our focus is to provide customers with quality flies and gear along with knowledge of this area's streams, rivers and ponds. We welcome folks to come here to see the flies and talk about the areas fishing opportunities. I can help steer you to some great fishing close by. Our website is also a main focus of this small business, this allows folks from afar the opportunity to purchase flies and gear that are time tested on our local streams and ponds.
The Flies
The flies we sell are all tied right here in the shop by me, no imports. Some of the flies are the well-known patterns that have proven themselves through the years. Others are my own patterns that I have developed at the vise and tested on our local rivers and streams. I also occasionally add new flies that are brought to my attention by other local fly fishermen and women.

Custom tying
Demand for custom tied flies has increased and has become an important part of this shop. If you have a favorite pattern that you can't find or have an idea for a pattern call, email or make a suggestion in the comment box when making purchase. I'll let you know if I can or cannot tie the pattern for you. Custom tying can take longer depending on the pattern and how busy the shop is.
