This simple little ant pattern has proven its worth many times on the small streams and trout ponds in northern New Hampshire and Maine. As a guide, I really like this fly because I can tie up a bunch in no time and it is a very easy pattern for my clients to use. The foam used on this fly requires no floatant to keep it floating high on the water, and if the trout chew it up (and they usually do!) I have many more in my fly box to get us through the day.
